Missions is not the ultimate goal of the church.
Worship is. Missions exists because worship doesn’t.
Worship is ultimate.
— John Piper

We as Crossroads Community of LAFGC believe that missions is the practical focal point of our community. This includes ministry within our local church by making disciples, and ministry outside our local church through supporting various missionaries and engaging in short-term summer missions (STSM).

Global Missions

Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this:
to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.
— James 1:27

Missionary Paul

Missionary Paul supports his parents, who run the Chonburi Missions center in Chonburi, Thailand. The center consists of an on-site church and an orphanage called Home of Grace (which our members also currently support financially). They also partner with other missionaries in Thailand.

Missionary Kilang

Missionary Kilang is the founder of the HelpLive organization.

HelpLive focuses on meeting needs of children who are at risk because of global socio-political issues or events. We resettle them in secure and familial environments. Currently, we are working with displaced children of Karen ethnicity at the border of Thailand and Myanmar. These children have escaped the on-going ethnic strife in Myanmar with hopes of a safer life.

Read more about their work here.

Missionary Joshua

Missionary Joshua and his family have built and are maintaining a school in Guinea. Missionary Joshua himself is dedicated to “M4 missions”–missions that aim to go to “the ends of the earth,” where the Gospel has not yet been preached before.

See more on their website here.

Missionary SEUng Cheol

Missionary Seung Cheol Park is currently serving in New Delhi, India. He moved his ministry recently from Chennai, and is currently in the process of planting a church.

Missionary J.

Missionary J. is the founder of Reah International, and is currently serving in North Korea. Hear his founding story or read a 2015 interview with him here.

Reah International exists to empower and equip Christians, and encourage unity within the Body of Christ as we engage with the people of the DPRK.

Short Term Summer Missions

As of 2018, we have sent short-term summer mission teams to Thailand for about 7 years.
Previous teams have also served to encourage global missionaries in India and New Guinea.

On the first Saturday of every month, our church goes out to downtown Los Angeles. After Early Morning Prayer Meeting (EMPM), we all head out to Skid Row where we serve food, share from the Bible, provide haircuts, and interact with the people there.

On the second Saturday of every month, our church goes out to Hollywood’s Walk of Fame after Early Morning Prayer Meeting (EMPM) to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with the local community.

On the third Saturday of every month, we go out after Early Morning Prayer Meeting (EMPM) to clean up the streets of our local community and bless our neighbors.
